Abstract
The binomial distribution is one of the discrete probability distributions that the application is easy to found in everyday life. Therefore, now, binomial distribution began to be introduced in mathematics learning at senior high school. The problem is the literacy provided by schools does not optimize the concept of binomial distribution itself. This research is a descriptive analysis that aims to describe the problems in one of the books in senior high school with the subject is binomial distribution. Based on the analysis that has been done, there are several problems, such as (1) the discussion scheme is less structured and there are several important concepts that are not given; (2) the description of statistics on the binomial distribution is less detailed (in this case mean and variance). The results of this analysis are expected to be one of the references for book developers to create books with discussions that optimize students conceptual understanding, especially in binomial distributions.

Abstract
Mathematical abstraction is a cognitive process when students construct their mathematics knowledge. This study explores mathematical abstraction of students related to the concept and the area of triangles. For this reason, firstly, the researchers developed four questions. This study was conducted in one junior high school in Bandung. Twenty three students, grade 7 (12-14 years old), were involved in this study. Data were collected through observation of the test results and followed by students- interviews. Finally, data was analyzed qualitatively. The researchers found that the low-achievement students tend to understand the triangles which consist of the interior area bounded by three straight lines and the lines themselves; they also tend to understand the area of triangles as the result of pattern of a base times height divided to two. Besides, there are indications that low-achievement students need help from teachers so that they can achieve higher level of abstraction.

Abstract
This study intends to investigate didactical and epistemological obstacles that occur when students solve the problem on the topic of geometry transformation. The data were collected from students- answer and interviews of 16 ninth graders and 16 twelfth graders when solving the test instrument used is five contextual problems and three problem description of geometry transformation. The data analysis reveals that most students have difficulty identifying contextual problems related to geometry transformation; not quite firm to know the characters from each type of geometry transformation (reflection, translation, rotation, and dilation); use procedural knowledge rather than conceptual understanding; and forget about the previous material related to geometry transformation. These findings are expected to overcome learning didactical and epistemological obstacles in teaching and learning of geometry transformation.

Abstract
Fraction is one of the important topic in mathematics learning that were still felt difficult by elementary school students, even by some middle school students. One of the proof was that there were students who experience misconceptions in the concept of fractions. This is one of the reasons for this research. The aim of study is to obtain a comprehensive description of students misconceptions in solving questions related to the concept of fractions. The subjects researched were seventh grade students of junior high school. This research uses a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research. Data collection was taken by observations, tests and interviews. The methods used to identify students who experience misconceptions were, using CRI (Certainty Index Response) that was given when students have worked on the test questions given. CRI can be used to classify students identified as having misconceptions, dont understand the concept, and do not know the concept. The results of data analysis show that there are students who do not know the concept of fractions, understand the concept of fractions, and experience misconceptions in the concept of fractions. Students identified as having misconceptions on the concept of fractions: part whole model; part group model; number line model. The factors that cause students to experience misconceptions are, 1) the ability of students to be wrong in: putting values for the numerator and denominator on fractions; determining the overall part of the picture; determining which fraction has greater value or fraction whose value is smaller, 2) errors in using addition operations in fractions, 3) errors in linking the concept of fractions in daily life.

Abstract
The main objective of this research is to develop a new didactic design that can optimize the development of students abilities, especially in the area of parallelogram and trapezium material. Didactic design was successfully developed throught three formal steps which was done by the researcher during the research process, namely didactic situation analysis before learning in the form of hypothetical didactic design including ADP, metapedadidactic analysis that is the implementation process of hypotetic didactic design, and retrospective analysis in the form of analysis linking the results of hypothetical didactic situation analysis with the results of an metapedadidactic that used to formulate empirical didactic designs. Composing the hypothetical didactic design is preceded by a preliminary analysis including studies of relevant previous researchs, analysis of learning videos, surveys of textbooks on school mathematics, theoretical analysis, and personalization conducted by the researcher. Design implementation is carried out in a junior high school in Bandung involving 94 students from three different classes. It is possible if the empirical didactic design which was produced in this study can be further developed through the same three formal steps

Abstract
This study examines pre-service chemistry teachers- understanding of concepts related to ionic liquids as cellulose solvents which include knowledge of cellulose, ionic compounds, and ionic liquids. This study used a descriptive method and involved 35 pre-service chemistry teachers from 6th semester who enrolled in the High School Chemistry unit. The research instruments of an open-ended questions which related to the concepts of ionic compounds, ionic liquids and cellulose. The results show that pre-service chemistry teachers have limited conceptions about of the concepts related to the dissolution of cellulose in ionic liquids. Based on the analysis of student answers to open-ended questions, students- conceptions about definition of cellulose are quite good, but student have no sufficient knowledge about the structure and benefits of cellulose. Furthermore, students- conceptions related to ionic compounds and ionic liquids are not good enough because student have not been able to mention the differences between ionic compounds and ionic liquids based on the structure, properties, and the constituent particles. This is because ionic liquids as cellulose solvents and the concepts related are not taught directly in the classroom so that it becomes an unfamiliar concept to student.

Abstract
The development and interest about mathematics textbooks in Indonesia have a considerable increase in last decade. In this study we discuss on structure analysis of Indonesian mathematics textbooks in Relation and Function Topics. In this study we focused structure analysis of mathematics textbooks for 8th grade students. Three Indonesian mathematics textbooks were analyzed for this study. An analysis framework was developed to investigate the characteristics of structure in the textbooks from three perspectives: the physical features, the schematic of the math contents in the textbooks, and the patterns in sequencing of content. We counted the distribution of block types, contents and performance expectation types to help us in examining and analyzing the structure of textbooks in relation and function topics for 8th grade. Our analysis showed that the three textbooks generally have a common structure. Firstly, the textbook A has more pages than the others. Mostly the textbook provided many learning activities with scientific approach. Secondly, the schematics showed that the brief of structure of the three textbooks which have a common structure: 1) illustration about relation and function; 2) a concept map; 3) a set of narrations, learning activities, worked examples, and exercise to help students in understanding the topics; and 4) a competence test to examine whether students have achieved the aims of learning or not. Lastly, the patterns in sequencing content of the three textbooks showed that they have different patterns. Based on the results, recommendations are given for investigating the linkage between structure of textbook and performance expectation in order to do further research in this topics.
