Abstract
Indonesias trade performance in 2018 experienced a deficit of USD 3,8 Billion, due to increasing of oil and gas imports. Countertrade scheme is proven as one way to improve the trade balance for country who experienced trade balance deficit through increasingnon-oil and gas exports channel. This study aims to identify the non-traditional trading partners as well as the products that are potential to be selected as non-oil and gas export destination for Indonesia through countertrade scheme. This study utilizes trade performance index and the composite index analysis using different criterias when applied to select country and products. The results shows that there are six potential countries include Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Qatar, Angola, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates. On the product side, Electronic and coal are the common potential products to be proposed through countertrade scheme as that products arepotential in all selected countries. There are another eight potential products for six countries that are selected, include machinery, jewelry, cigarettes, dairy products, processed fruits, mollusks, vegetable materials, automotive, synthetic rubber, processed oily grains, processed fruits, coffee beans, CPO & derivatives, pearls, processed fats & animal / vegetable oils, ash and metal scraps, precious metals, rice, salt, and sulfur and lime.

Abstract
Wood and paper industry sector become the most heavily sector which has been charged with trade remedy in Indonesia mostly due to the implementation of log timber export ban policy. The implementation of this policy since 2012 has received many trade remedy allegations, particularly subsidy allegations by trading partner countries. This study aims to evaluate the log timber export ban policy and proposed alternative policies that could minimize the potential for alleged subsidies. The study used some different methodology included a normative juridical legal analysis based on the DS491 case study: US Coated Paper, regulatory impact analysis (RIA), and CGE Model to simulate the impact of trade remedy on Indonesian exports and the impact of alternative policies. The results shows that the imposition of trade remedy by partner countries has a negative impact on the export performance of Indonesian wood derivative products. Based on the DS491 case study, the log timber export prohibition policy concluded as a subsidy. While the impact of log timber ban export on financial contribution is still debatable. This study recommended that better alternative policy option that provide benefits in supporting forest sustainability and the continuity of downstream industries made from wood is to continue the log export ban by adjusting the legal text with WTO principle, namely conservation of natural resources in Article XX GATT 1944 (general exclusion) and clarifying that the control of forests by the government is not dominantly supporting the formation of domestic market prices.

Abstract
The coffee business is rising globally which is indicated by the growing number of coffee companies, coffee shops, and customers. This rising trend also includes the Indonesian coffee business, but Indonesian coffee bean production could not benefit from this trend. This paper aims to map the Indonesian coffee business positioning in the global value chain. We performed a strategic analysis using the BCG matrix approach by looking at the local coffee business growth rate and market share in Indonesia. The study identified two coffee business types, namely macro-scale business, and micro-scale business. Each group was differed by two categories: business characteristics and its impact on the Indonesia coffee bean production. The result shows that the Indonesian coffee business was still as a follower in the global coffee business trend. Thus, they need a strategic plan to move from a follower to be a global player. The study shows that the BCG matrix was a useful tool to map the Indonesia coffee business positioning and their future strategic plan.

Abstract
Prominent economists have diagnosed a growth trap problem that has hindered Indonesia from optimum economic development. For years, the economic growth rate has stuck at five percent. Furthermore, there is growing concern that Indonesia is experiencing premature deindustrialization. The terminology refers to a situation when the contribution of the manufacturing sector is declining and is lower than the services sector; before a country achieved a high-income status. This study aims to suggest strategic options to deal with the growth trap and the premature deindustrialization by optimizing opportunities offered by the global value chain practices. It will utilize the following tools of the strategy-formulation analytical framework. The Competitive Profile Matrix will compare the competitiveness of Indonesia and its rivals. In addition, the Grand Strategy Matrix to evaluate the competitive position and market growth among relevant countries. Finally, the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) will be employed to determine strategies to exploit global value chain opportunities. Suggested strategies from this research will be beneficial for policymakers to lay out policy proposals and actions.

Abstract
In Indonesia, the increase in GDP of the Creative Economy from year to year indicates that there is good potential from creative economic sector in increasing the growth of the national economy. Judging from its contribution to National GDP, during the 2010-2016 period, the creative economy contributed an average of 7.45 percent to national GDP. However, until now the development of the creative economic sector has still not been able to reach the targets set by Badan Ekonomi Kreatif. GDP can be measured using three approaches, namely production, income and expenditure approaches. This research will focus on the production value approach. The purpose of this study is to know the general condition of the Indonesian creative industry and analyze the influence of input factors and ICT on the production value of Indonesias creative industry in 2012 -2015 using the panel data regression, FEM with SUR. The results showed that the ICT development index, labor, fuel, imported raw materials, machinery, the number of businesses with capital facilities had a positive and significant effect on the production value of the Indonesian creative industry, while the export value had no significant effect and had a positive relationship. Thus, to accelerate the GDP growth of the Creative Economy, it is necessary to carry out policies related to HR by increasing employment, improving the quality of education in Indonesia, mobilizing creative economic entrepreneurs to innovate and improve their technological capabilities, provide capital facilities to creative industries, and increase the use of machinery to speed up the production process.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Inflation Targeting Framework to global trade, economic growth, and human development index. The implementation of the flexible Inflation Targeting Framework policy by Bank Indonesia since 2005 aims to improve macroeconomic stability. It is also conceptually intended as an instrument to respond to changes in economic conditions in a flexible and responsive instrument to minimize the impact of economic crisis. However, in every economic concept and model, it certainly contains weaknesses, so it needs to be anticipated. To be able to conduct a study according to its purpose, this study tries to analyze the determinant of Inflation Targeting Framework to variables of economic growth, global trade, and human development index. It is expected that using data and information as well as the econometric approach of research can find a model that illustrates the interrelationship between variables in the study so that it can be useful as a means of establishing effective economic policies in order to improve the public welfare.

Abstract
The development of the global value chains (GVCs) in recent years has changed our perspective of international trade. The most important feature of GVC is the fragmentation of global production, where many intermediate goods are produced in different countries and then exported to other countries for further production. This paper aims to identify determinants of Indonesias bilateral trade balance using new measurements based on international input output data, called trade in value-added (TiVA). The use of TiVA can prevent double counting in the estimate of the bilateral trade balance. This estimate is caused by an increase in export production requiring an increase in intermediate imports as a consequence of fragmentation of international production in the GVCs. The method used in this paper is fixed effect data panel, applied to Indonesias trade balance gravity model. The estimation results show that GDP and FDI are the main determinants of Indonesias trade balance in terms of GVCs. The estimation results also show that using measurements based on gross trade balance causes a large overestimation. Finally, the finding suggests that the Indonesian government should develop a trade policy based on TiVA so that the policies will relevant to the development of GVCs.

Abstract
Floriculture is a blooming venture globally especially for many developing countries including Indonesia. In Indonesia, the current floriculture trend is driven by the Korean style flower arrangement and online shop. This trend has increased imported flowers; however, there is limited knowledge on the Indonesian flower that demanded locally and globally by this trend. This paper aims to map Indonesian floriculture in the global value chain. The strategic analysis was carried out by Business Model Canvas (BMC) in combination with a business model environment analysis and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis to describe the whole map and its building block perspective. The study revealed that Indonesia floriculture export faces great competition from Thailand and Vietnam despite the remarkable opportunities in global and local trade. Consequently, Indonesia floriculture needs a strategic plan to increase their flower export and becoming a major global floriculture player. Based on the study, BMC helps in mapping the flower export, thus business model environment analysis and SWOT analysis are helpful in designing its future strategic plan.

A trade war is a conflict that occurs between two or more countries in the sector of trade. The conflict can be seen in the case of an increase in tariffs, or other obstacles made to disrupt the economic balance of a country, so that the country changes its economic policy or trade. One issue in trade wars is environmental issues. What are these issues? This study was conducted with a political ecology and political economy approach and data collection using library and internet. The findings of this study describe that there are three main environmental issues in a trade war. First, the issue of environmental harm. Issues on health standards on traded products. Third, human rights issues. The study also found that there were always double standards in trade political policies that tended to have a taste of trade wars.

Abstract
Indonesian digital economy is projected to become the largest in Southeast Asia, promising more jobs, and more consumer choices for an emerging tech-savvy generation. One of efforts to realize that path, Indonesia has signed the 10th Package of ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services (AFAS). The commitment increases to trade in services cooperation for approximately 15 sub-sectors. However, the Indonesian readiness is highlighted by many parties, such as lack of human resources skill, poor infrastructure condition, and affordability uneven. So it is worrying that it would become a boomerang for national economic growth. The purpose of this study is to analyze Indonesian readiness for digital economy through trade in service in the ASEAN market. This study employs a quantitative approach with Gravity Model. The secondary data in the form of panel data period year 2014-2016 (annual) and includes ASEAN-6 countries. The variable digital economy readiness is a main explanatory variable interest and represented by networked readiness index. While the data sources come from Comtrade, IMF, World Bank, World Economic Forum, and Indonesian Ministry of Trade. The analytical method uses Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) and it is resolved with software of Stata 13. Based on the interim results indicate that the level of Indonesian readiness for digital economy; includes infrastructure, affordability, and skills of human resources; would effect positively the flow of trade in services in the ASEAN market. Therefore, it is important for the Government of Indonesia to ensure that there are prerequisites that must be prepared in grabbing benefits of the momentum of the digitalization era.

Abstract
The very core problems of the study are essential to determine the competitive marketing strategy of Furniture Enterprises. The study was generally using the descriptive method of research. Data were obtained by using a questionnaire ,and followed by an interview to obtain further opinions of each of the respondents. Relevant tables and matrices were generally presented to interpret and analyze the study. In addition, the percentage was used to compare the proportion of the frequencies of responses to the total number of responses to denote the order of importance of an item in the questionnaire. The study shows the following findings: living room sets, bedroom furnishings, dining room sets, chairs, tables, accessories, and decors are types of products produced. Quality of material used is a major factor of product attribute desired by the buyers. Lower prices, product quality, good design, and craftsmanship and on-time delivery are the competitive strategies of the products. Catalog, trade fairs, correspondence are more common methods of introducing the products to the buyers. United States of America, Australia, Japan, Sweden, England, Netherland, France, Germany, Canada, and the United Emirates Arab are major export destinations. Among the most severe problems are price control, unpredictable demand situation, and lack of market information. In addition, high interest rates and stringent collateral requirement prescribed by the financial institution and unfavorable tax rate was also reported as the severe problems as the result of government rules and regulations. Considering the significant contribution of the furniture industry to the economy, the government should continue to make the furniture industry as a priority industry. Reappraisal of present incentives toward the industry will have to be made. The government should help the industry to gather market information along with new design and technology and demands of the foreign market.

Abstract
Indonesia is the largest coffee producer in the world after Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia. One of the mayor markets for Indonesian coffee is Japan. This paper, therefore, analyzed the position of Indonesian coffee, either green bean or roasted coffee in Japan. The linear Approximate Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS) model was used to estimate a system of expenditure share equations for Indonesian coffee and its competitors. Time series data from 1996 to 2017 were obtained for the analysis. Empirical results indicated that most of the slope coefficients were statistically significant and in accordance with microeconomic theory. The significant independent variables of green bean were the price of vietnamese coffee, gross domestic product of Japan, and exchange rates of Japan to Indonesia. Then, the significant independent variables of roasted coffee were exchange rates of Japan to Indonesia, import tariffs and Sanitary and Phytosanitaryas as non tariff measures variable. It was known that tariffs and non tariffs measures effected the Indonesian coffee demand only on roasted coffee. The position of Indonesian coffee was determined by its demand elasticity (price elasticity, cross price elasticity, and expenditure elasticity). Indonesian green bean was found to be inelastic in Japanese market, but Indonesian roasted coffee was found to be elastic in Japanese market. Indonesian coffee substituted for Brazilian coffee and Colombian coffee, and complemented to Vietnamese coffee.

Abstract
Determining the price of the lower limit and the upper limit of chicken meat from breeders produces a dilemma for small-scale independent farmers. Because the price that appears on the market sometimes falls and is far from the reference price. In addition, the cost of production is also at the upper limit of the upper limit of prices, so that farmers scream in arranging price strategies to reduce production costs. Based on a descriptive study of several independent farmers, the pricing should be balanced with the day old chicken (DOC) price policy and animal feed that must be stable. Independent breeders hope that alternative policies will be presented in tackling the deterioration in market prices and tend to be more profitable for integrated livestock companies. Thus, there needs to be a review of the policies rolled out by the minister of trade in embracing independent farmers, traders and consumers so that the trading system is stable.

Abstract
In the trade and business of agriculture commodities, global partnerships based on standards compiled by international NGOs is needed to achieve social, economic and environmental sustainability. However, the partnership by implementing these sustainability standard has not been fully effective in improving the performance of agricultural sector in Indonesia. In addition, the right business partnership strategy is needed to deal with global uncertainty in trade, industry and business of agricultural commodities. This paper aims to analyze the trade mapping of some important agricultural commodities peformance in Indonesia (Palm Oil, Coffee, Cocoa, and Tea) and the standards applied to these commodities (Rainforest Alliance - RA, Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil - RSPO, UTZ, Fairtrade International, 4C, Organic). The analysis demonstrated that in the Global Value Chain, Indonesian Palm Oil has followed the standards from Organic, RA, and RSPO. Indonesian Coffee has followed the standards from 4C, Fairtrade International, Organic, RA and UTZ. Meanwhile, Indonesia Cocoa and Tea have followed standards from Fairtrade International, Organic, RA, and UTZ. The performance rankings of the Indonesian commodity industry and trade in Palm Oil, Coffee, Cacao and Tea in the world were, first (with net trade 99.9), the 8th (with net trade 90.8), the 12th (with net trade 55.9), the 8th (with net trade 58.3), respectively. Based on the data analysis, the maintenance of Palm Oil business partnership scheme with current partner countries should be maintained and followed sustainability standards. Meanwhile, for Coffee, Cocoa, and Tea, it is necessary to increase the business partnership with other countries with potential markets and positive trading trend.

During the monetary crisis in 1998, the current state of the global economy had no effect on Cooperatives and SMEs. The reason is because at that time almost no SMEs borrowed money from foreign parties. However, this does not apply today. The contact of SMEs with foreign exchange is the cause. Besides that, SMEs in Indonesia also have problems with financial access and access to markets, namely the difficulty of adapting to technological advancements. Technological advances have touched on the development of digital with artificial intelligence components that can only be done if SMEs do Digital Transformation. SMEs must pay attention to their determinants of success, namely technological excellence, IT Capability, and IT Allignment with Business. These factors will be more quickly controlled and fulfilled if SME leaders have good vision and a strong understanding of Digital transformation. This research is a causal study with a quantitative approach. Causal research is research that analyzes causal relationships between variables that are independent variables and dependent variables. If the SME leadership is able to support the Digital transformation process that is carried out, then SMEs will be able to carry out business innovations that can grow rapidly. This will make SMEs have the ability to compete and certainly contribute to the nations economy.

Abstract
This paper discusses the costs of choosing the technology for the salt production process using the AHP technique. The strength of the strategy to the selection of production process technology based on the benefit-cost ratio by several criteria. The choice of salt production technology is traditional techniques, tunneling techniques, prism techniques, and FDS (Flow down system) techniques. The AHP structures are the criteria and sub-criteria. AHP criteria give impacts such as production process technology, salt quality, production costs, and human resources. From these criteria, the cost of investment modal and maintenance have the highest weight — the quality of salt determined by the color, NaCl content, and size of the salt granules. The criteria for production costs consist of sub-criteria for raw material costs, capital investment costs, and indirect costs. The level of technology is conventional technology, semi-modern technology, and modern technology. Human resources are the experience of farmers in processing salt production. The production costs needed for the salt production process greatly determine the farmer decision to obtain the optimal quality and quantity of salt. The second priority is the ease of production process technology and successively the following criteria as human resources and the quality of the salt produced. The recommended technology for production process based on AHP by using B/C ratio and consideration as indicators are tunnel and prism techniques.

Abstract
The Industrial Revolution 4.0 was a logical revolution of the previous industrial revolution. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is made with automation and Internet use from things that can provide improvements in many sectors. One of them is the manufacturing industry sector. The manufacturing industry is the leading sector that must receive attention, especially in terms of policy. Spatial oriented policies (agglomeration) can be used to implement good policies, especially through agglomeration analysis. Agglomeration analysis used the Hoover Balassa Index (HBI) with an emphasis on labor growth in districts in Java. The existence of this agglomeration will cause differences in the growth of labor which will then be sought for the determinant. So that static panel data analysis will be used with the Fixed Effect Model SUR model. The dependent variable used is the manufacturing industry workforce. The independent variables used are wages, company efficiency, number of companies, industry competition index, import content, industrial revolution dummy 4.0 and agglomeration dummy. Agglomeration analysis shows that there are two agglomeration poles, namely, the western end and the east end of Java Island. There are six independent variables that are significant as determinants of labor growth, namely, wages, company efficiency, number of companies, industry competition index, industrial revolution dummy 4.0 and agglomeration dummy.

Abstract
Food shortages and starvation are among the important issues faced by the Philippines. Low production in rice is usually encountered by many farmers due to the reduction of production areas, incidence of pest and diseases, soil degradation in terms of fertility and acidity and climate change. As the world population continues to expand, greater pressure on resources essential for food production, including fossil energy. Hence, quest for additional calorie food sources that will require less energy and less water are needed. Data were gathered using formal survey questionnaire to account the energy bill, CO2 emissions, energy efficiency and identify the high consuming practices in all production stages of corn. Under the present farming conditions of Samar, the energy audit analyses showed that a hectare of corn consumed 2,822.43 Mcal or 247.28 LDOE. This translated to 1,880 Mcal or 160 LDOE to produce a ton of milled corn or 1.88 Mcal or 0.16 LDOE to produce a kilogram of milled corn. Hence it could be an additional calorie food source since it requires less water compared to rice that will grow even planted in hilly lands. In addition, the energy audit analyses showed that a hectare of corn emitted 978.12 kg of CO2 which is lower emission than rice.

Abstract
Madura has typical cassava-based food products including raw and fried tette chips produced by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The production process of the two products varies and produces different environmental impacts. This study aims to evaluate and compare environmental impact assessments in the production of raw and fried tette chips using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach. This study evaluates the product life cycle from the procurement of raw materials until the product distribution tonthe market. The results showed that fried tette chips had a lower environmental impact than raw tette chips per 500 gram basis. Climate change, photochemical oxidation and eutrophication are environmental impacts identified in this study. The results of this study are expected to get a comprehensive environmental footprint of the product system with respect to sustainable production and consumption.
